"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." ~ Colossians 3:23,24

missing you

hey everyone,

i thought i'd write a quick hello to my wonderful & amazing senior highs back at home. i'm having an incredible summer here at qwanoes as the cit counselor. i have seen God do some amazing things in the last three weeks - i wish i had the time to write them all out. if you get a chance, pray for me and the cit's here at camp. it's going to be a long, hot, tiring week and we need all the help we can get!

anyway, i love & miss all of you - let me know how you're doing!

ugh! not busy enough!

..and it was right. sorta. i'm not writing about the fortune cookie. i'm writing about the fact that i feel like my summer is going to waste. even with vbs, saltspring, work, and leaving for "back east" in a couple weeks, i still feel like i'm not doing enough with my time. maybe it's because i'm not really enjoying anything i do with my time (aside from vbs- i love my kids!). it feels like i'm being drained emotionally and physically instead of getting something out of the things i do. so, getting to the point and getting out of hyper-emo mode, anybody up for a trip to the art gallery (vancouver) next week? or maybe even a movie? that is, if any of you are experiencing similar feelings of loss of point/purpose...

*as an afterthought... strange how i'm completely exhausted, and yet i feel like i have to do more.

Syd Barrett dies...

Well everybody....Syd Barrett has died (on Friday). I know none of you know who he is, but he was one of the founding members of Pink Floyd, which happens to be my favourite band in the whole entire universe. He died of diabetes at the age of 60.

Just thought I'd let you all know about what an important day is July 11, 2006.

reminder/ inspirational quote

during summer vacay, when most people are gone (or at least the people you usually hang out with), it's easy to get discouraged/depressed on account of your being incredibly bored. however, don't we read (almost) every sunday night that we should "not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith?" have faith that your summer can be awesome, however alone you feel. 'cause you're not really that alone, anyways... i'm around if i'm not working :). random quote!
"One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see
a fine picture, and, if it were possible, to speak a few reasonable words in
order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the
beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul."
- Johann von Goethe

Pirates of Ladner: Ben's Chest

It has come to my attention that a new "motion picture" has recently been released in the local nickelodeons, namely the new Pirates of the Caribbean film. Consequently, I'm interested in gathering together a small throng of moviegoers with whom to attend the feature film as a little "get-together". It has been nearly a fortnight since I assembled with my fellow youth groups members to do the "hanging out".

So, this week, if you can attend, please send me a telegram posthaste to my address, which is bd.reilly@gmail.com. It also happens to me my MSN tag, so contact me if you would like. Or comment on this post. Don't worry, you can block me as soon as you tell me, there are no communication commitments necessary aftwerwards.

Tell me if you're interested, and what evenings/afternoons you could go, and I'll see how it all works out. If you'd like to see the movie, but don't want to come with me, I'll probably go to Silvercity Riverport, so you can adjust your location appropriately.

Remember, telegrams POSTHASTE!

Greeting from Campity-Camp

Well here I am, at camp, working my butt off (in the morning). I'm off now, but just wanted to say "hi" to all you non-camping people out there. I'm telling you, you're missing out on a lot of back pain and sore legs. I mean fun. No, really, it is a lot of fun. But tiring. But fun.

Anyway, I think some other people want to use the computer, so I'm going to go now and have fun without you. Yes, I can do that.

Tara's Childhood Uncovered

Hey friends!

I just got home from Qwanoes, but apparently nobody knows this!! I feel like an undercover spy! *mission impossible theme song* Anyways, I decided that I needed to finally make a point about this little Universal Studios girl whom I SEEMINGLY looked like at the age of eight. However, contrary to popular belief, this is not what I looked like at that stage of my life, and I have some pretty cute pictures to prove it!

Hmm, so the pictures aren't loading... well, I'll post them later. Au revoir!

Tara
